1. Personal Sewing License (Included with Every Pattern)
When you purchase a digital pattern from barethreadpatterns.co.nz, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable personal license.
 

• What You CAN Do:

  • Print as many copies of the pattern as you need for your personal sewing projects.

  • Adjust, alter, or hack the pattern to fit your individual body or personal taste.

  • Share photos of your finished garments on social media, blogs, or forums (we love seeing your makes!).

• What You CANNOT Do:

  • Re-sell, sub-license, share, or distribute the raw PDF files, A0 copyshop files, or instruction booklets to anyone else.

  • Upload pattern files to file-sharing sites, Facebook groups, messaging apps, or cloud drives accessible by third parties.

  • Print physical paper copies of the pattern or instruction booklet to sell or distribute to others.

2. Small-Batch Commercial Garment Sales
We love supporting the home-sewing and maker community! If you run a small handmade business, seamstress studio, or market stall, you are permitted to sell physical garments crafted using Bare Thread Patterns - under the following conditions:

• Handmade Execution: Garments must be handmade individually by you (or within your small studio). Mass production, factory manufacturing, or outsourcing to commercial production facilities is strictly prohibited.

• Commercial Request: Please email hello@barethreadpatterns.co.nz with your business details so we can grant explicit commercial permission.

• Design Credit: Please acknowledge Bare Thread Patterns as the pattern designer in your product listings or social media tags (e.g., "Pattern: Dune Pant by Bare Thread Patterns").

3. Workshops, Classes & Teaching Licensing
Sewing instructors, retreat hosts, and independent studios are welcome to teach using our patterns!

• 1 Student = 1 Pattern License: Every student participating in a workshop or class must hold their own individual pattern license. Multi-copying or sharing a single digital download across multiple students is a breach of copyright.

• Bulk Teacher Discount: We offer a 20% bulk discount on digital pattern licenses for confirmed workshop cohorts (minimum 4 students).

• To Arrange a Class: Contact us at hello@barethreadpatterns.co.nz prior to your workshop date to receive your student licensing code or group invoice.

4. Copyright & Intellectual Property Notice
All digital patterns, vector artwork, photos, branding elements, and written instructions are the exclusive intellectual property of Jaclyn M Ltd (trading as Bare Thread Patterns) and are protected under New Zealand and international copyright laws. Unauthorised commercial production, file distribution, or copying without permission will be treated as copyright infringement.

5. Free Patterns Policy & Terms of Download

Limited-Time Promotional Access

Free pattern releases are offered for a limited time as promotional downloads. Bare Thread Patterns reserves the right to change, update, or revert promotional pricing to the standard retail price at any time without prior notice. Promotional pricing cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases or past windows.

Personal Use & Licensing Terms

All digital files - including layered home-print PDFs, A0 copyshop files, calibrated projector assets, and visual instruction guides  are strictly for personal, non-commercial use.

•   You may sew garments for your personal wardrobe or as personal gifts.

•  You may not sell finished garments made from free patterns unless explicit commercial licensing has been granted.

•  You may not copy, forward, re-distribute, re-upload, or share the pattern files, links, or visual guides on any website, shared drive, or online group.

Digital Delivery & Account Checkout

To receive your free digital files, standard checkout with a valid email address is required. Your download link will be delivered directly to your inbox immediately following checkout. Digital downloads are subject to local digital delivery regulations and store system availability worldwide.

Support & Revisions

Free pattern downloads are provided "as-is" with our complete visual instruction guides included. While we strive for absolute precision across all vector files, individual fitting assistance, custom drafting modifications, and dedicated tech support are reserved for our full commercial pattern collection.

Free Pattern Terms: Offered for a limited time for personal, non-commercial use only. Pattern files (PDFs, instruction guides, and projector assets) may not be copied, shared, or redistributed. Requires standard email checkout for digital delivery. All rights reserved by Bare Thread Patterns.
