Bare Thread Patterns A new Journey..

Welcome to Bare Thread Patterns, a digital pattern house born in the coastal studio of Tasman, New Zealand.
We design modern, thoughtful garments crafted for real life, tailored for natural textiles, and built to become the hardworking staples of your handmade wardrobe.

Bare Thread Patterns began with a simple belief: beautiful sewing patterns should bridge the gap between contemporary ready-to-wear style and the quiet joy of slow, intentional making.
Every silhouette in our collection starts as an original design hand-drafted in our Richmond studio. We focus on architectural details, effortless drape, and comfortable, relaxed fits that honor natural fibers like linen, cotton, wool, and hemp.
We don't believe in rushed releases or seasonal trends. Instead, we take the time to refine every curve, test every seam finish, and grade each size with technical precision so that your sewing time is rewarding from first cut to final press.
Thoughtful, Modern Deliverables

We know that every maker’s workspace is unique. Whether you sew at a dining table with a home printer, drop off files at your local copyshop, or cut directly on your cutting table using a ceiling projector, our digital pattern bundles are engineered to give you a seamless experience:
 * 100% Human-Drafted & Tested: Every pattern is hand-vector-drafted and fit-tested on real bodies, never generated by AI algorithms.

  •  Visual-First Instruction Booklets: Packed with step-by-step illustrations, clear pressing cues, and seam-finishing options to guide sewists of all confidence levels.

  •  Versatile Digital Files: Layered Print-at-Home (A4/US Letter), wide-format A0 Copyshop, and dedicated, high-contrast Projector files included with every design.

Slow Design for a Sustainable Wardrobe
Creating your own clothing is a quiet act of rebellion against fast fashion. When you choose your own natural textiles and invest your time into making a garment by hand, you build a deeper connection to what you wear.
Thank you for bringing our designs to life on your sewing table, adapting them to your unique body, and making them entirely your own.

Happy making,
Jaclyn @Bare Thread Patterns
